A well established precision engineering company are looking for an experienced Operations Manager in Sandhurst, Surrey. The company produce high precision components to various industries including Aerospace, Motor Sport, Defence and Medical.
Operations Manager - Job Description
* Liaise with customers on issues like deliveries, costings and contracts.
* Prepare quotes and carry out follow up activity.
* Load orders to the Production system and create any planning required in order to assist the shop floor.
* Plan and organise production schedules whilst ensuring maximum efficiency
* Hold production meeting once a week with shop floor and office
* Identify tooling requirements at the order processing point, not left until the job is on the shop floor
* Carry costing analysis and discuss with customer if required
* Have good understanding CNC controls and machines.
* Organise service schedules
* Trouble shooting of machine breakdowns ensure machines are repaired in a timely and cost efficient way
* Being able to identify cost savings and improve efficiencies through production changes.
* Conduct quality review meeting with external consultant.
* Host the ISO audit and answer any question.
* Conduct staff appraisals
* Identify where further investment may be required and what the benefits of this would bring
Candidate Profile - Operations Manager
* Good communication skills
* Have an understanding of inspection requirements
* Ensure all deliveries are organised in the most cost efficient way whilst maintaining or improving the current level of delivery performance
* Have an understanding of a production system ( preferably Tricorn)
* Have good understanding Aerospace requirements
* Good understanding of the FAIR system.
* Have good understanding CNC controls and machines.
* Have good understanding of ISO 9001 QMS
* Maintain discipline and standards with staff and the shop floor generally
* Maintain the good customer relationships currently experienced by good communication
* Working to set KPI’s. These will be target driven and monitored.
* Candidate must work in an organised tidy manner.
* Must be of good appearance and conduct themselves in a professional manner
Remuneration - Operations Manager
Basic working week of 48 hrs.
You would be expected to be present all the time the factory is open
The position will be a salaried role
Salary 58-60k.
4 weeks holiday rising to 5 weeks after the relevant qualifying period.
8 days paid statutory holidays
3 days of the annual leave will need to be kept back for Christmas
