Year 3 Class Teacher
Location: Islington, London, UK
Salary: £180 – £300 per day
Job Type: Full Time, Temporary, Sickness Cover (initially a few weeks, with potential extension)
Start Date: 13 April 2026
Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience.

About the Role

Teach Now is working in partnership with a welcoming, community-focused primary school in Islington, just a short walk from Archway Underground Station. The school serves a diverse North London community and is recognised for its strong ethos of care, high expectations, and a rich, engaging curriculum that fosters confidence, resilience, and a love of learning.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 3 Class Teacher to provide sickness cover. The position is expected to last for a minimum of a few weeks and may extend through to the end of the academic year, depending on the school’s needs.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 3

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

• Ability to build positive relationships quickly with pupils and staff

• Confident in planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons

• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing

• Flexible, proactive and able to integrate into an established team

Key Responsibilities

• Take full class responsibility for a Year 3 class

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons aligned with a broad and balanced curriculum

• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports both wellbeing and academic progress

• Work collaboratively with the phase team, support staff and senior leaders to ensure continuity of learning

• Implement the school’s behaviour and wellbeing strategies, including trauma-informed and inclusive practices

• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with additional needs and EAL
