How you'll make a difference
As a Building Control Support Officer (Administrator) Trainee, you will be responsible for providing efficient, responsive, and high-quality technical assistance to the Place Department and assisting in routine customer service tasks for this area.
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is willing to learn whilst supporting the busy Building Control Team.
What will you be doing?
1. You will be under the supervision of the Technical Support Team Leader and will assist in the delivery of high-quality technical assistance to the Building Control Team and its customers.
2. You will provide a front-line service giving an initial response to customers, including telephone and office callers. This involves answering general enquiries, collating information related to applications, licences, and service requests, and advising customers if their information is incomplete.
3. Duties include indexing and filing documents into the Document Management System (DMS), electronic mail distribution, and assisting other staff with relevant duties.
4. You will prepare documents and other materials to a good standard following clear briefs, using established formats and software, and provide general administrative support such as photocopying, filing, ordering supplies, and routine tasks.
5. Collecting information, maintaining records, and using established formats, software, and procedures.
What we need from you
1. This opportunity is open to those with Technical Support experience or those from a Retail or Hospitality background seeking a career change.
2. You should have five GCSEs above grade C, including Maths and English, and an NVQ Level 2 qualification.
3. Strong customer service skills and effective communication are essential.
4. Good knowledge of IT, with experience in Office packages such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
