An exciting opportunity to join the Weston ED team as a band 6 in the department, with a focus on supporting the team in caring for sick children.
Whilst this role will be predominantly focused on the paediatric patients who attend our ED in Weston, the applicant will be directly employed by ED, not Seashore, and clinical responsibility of coordinating minors will cover oversight and care of both adults and children.
Clinical Duties
These include being responsible for the shared management of a nursing team, providing advice, information and support whilst coordinating minors/fast flow.
Providing clinical support to the junior nursing team and bedside education.
Actively supporting the sister/charge nurse on duty, assisting in the safe, effective and efficient management of the department and deputising in their absence.
Non Clinical Duties
To work closely with the ED PEF and Lead band 7 to support the paediatric nursing team working in the ED.
To support in developing paediatric pathways and protocols for children attending Weston ED and ensure all RNs working in the ED have appropriate support and training to care for children.
To promote a department environment that is conducive to learning, and supporting and participating in the supervision/teaching of the more junior and/or new staff across the MDT.
To actively participate in the governance and service development for children attending Weston, in partnership with teams within BRHC.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships between Weston ED, Seashore, BRHC ED and WATCH.
