At Specsavers Arbroath we are expanding our laboratory services and are therefore looking to expand our lab team by inviting applications from experienced spectacle glazing technicians or those with a background, or presently working in optics, who wish to pursue a career in spectacle glazing.
Working 40 hours per week over 5 days, between the hours of :00, including your fair share of weekend work, your responsibilities will include:
* Ordering products from manufactures
* Quality controlling products
* Glazing prescription spectacle lenses into frames
* Making outgoing calls to patients as required
* General housekeeping
* You may occasionally work independently but more often will work as part of a team
We would consider 4 days per week for the right candidate but shift times are non-negotiable.
Hourly rate is NMW/NLW for your age plus 20 pence per hour. 28 days holiday per year plus 1 day birthday leave. Additional holidays given for long service. Enhanced sick pay and maternity pay available after 2 years of employment with us.

About you
* Experience as an optical lab technician would of course be favourable but not essential as long as you have experience in optics. Full training will be provided
* You will be keen to work in a fast paced environment
* Some experience in customer service would be advantageous
* You will be able to communicate well with all types of people in person and on the phone
* You will be fully flexible and able to work 5 days from 7 including weekends (which are evenly shared in the team)
* You will have basic computer skills and able to use Microsoft online platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Excel
* You will have attention to detail in order to rectify any errors you may come across
* Good numerously skills
* You will take pride in your work
