Architectural Technician (VAC-359060) City of Preston, England
A regional house builder seeks an Architectural Technician to join our regional office in Lancashire on a fixed‑term contract basis.
You will support the Design team with the execution of housing developments across the region, providing accurate architectural and technical information.
Key Responsibilities
* Amend / update AutoCAD and REVIT house type working drawings and all associated drawings, details and documents.
* Produce AutoCAD and REVIT house type working drawings and all associated drawings, details and documents.
* Check external Consultants’ and Designers’ drawings, documents and reports.
* Collaborate with members of all other Departments within the Company.
* Prepare and collate Building Regulations / NHBC / Premier Guarantee / ICW applications.
* Clear Building Regulations and Warranty Provider conditions.
* Prepare and collate Planning Applications, including applications for discharge of details reserved by planning conditions, NMA and s73 applications.
* Amend AutoCAD Planning Layouts and all associated drawings.
* Appoint and liaise with external Consultants; liaise with Council Officers, Statutory Authorities, and representatives from Warranty Providers and Building Control bodies.
* Liaise with Solicitors, prepare legal drawings and documents, collate legal site setup information; liaise with contractors and sub‑contractors.
* Compile tender packages; assist in production and checking of sales & marketing material.
* Manage budgets and payments; conduct site visits and liaison with on‑site Construction and Sales teams where necessary.
Skills and Experience Required
* Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in Construction / Architectural Technology subject with relevant experience, or working towards this status.
* Previous housing sector experience in a technical / architectural function is desirable.
* Experience working with Revit & AutoCAD is essential.
* Knowledge of building regulations and current NHBC standards.
* Strong communication, listening, presentation skills and excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to express basic technical information clearly and concisely.
* Methodical, conscientious, organised and delivers high standards.
* Recognises problems and resolves them rapidly and effectively.
* Can work independently as well as part of a team.
* Problem‑solving and effective delegation skills.
