About the Role
We’re hiring a CNC Manual Machinist to join our Croydon-based workshop team. This is a hands‑on role supporting the maintenance, repair and overhaul of mechanical equipment across rail, marine, power, and oil & gas sectors. As a CNC Manual Machinist, you’ll work on a wide variety of components – no production runs, just precision, problem‑solving and technical variety.
Key Responsibilities
* Operating and setting up manual machinery including lathes, milling, drilling, boring and grinding equipment
* Interpreting engineering drawings (metric and imperial) to guide machining and repairs
* Designing and producing basic tooling to support workshop teams
* Carrying out component balancing and assisting with job planning and scheduling

Skills & Experience
* Time‑served apprenticeship or relevant mechanical qualification
* Extensive experience with manual machining equipment
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (metric and imperial)
* Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
* Attention to detail and ability to self‑verify work
* Good communication and teamwork skills
