An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Election Services team at South Lanarkshire Council. We are looking for someone positive, innovative, committed, flexible and highly motivated to work as part of a close-knit team to deliver fair and efficient elections. You will have excellent administration and IT skills and experience and a ‘can do’ attitude. In this role, you will support the conduct of Scottish local government elections, UK and Scottish Parliamentary elections and referenda, and will participate in the delivery of initiatives which involve local engagement with the democratic process. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of administration including handling enquiries on the team mailbox, updating records and guidance documents and creating and developing training materials for elections staff. You will also provide similar administrative support to the Legal Services Team during down periods in elections. There may be a requirement to assist at polling stations, counts and other electoral events as required, which may involve working outside of normal working hours. This role provides genuine opportunities for the successful candidate to broaden their experience and develop within a supportive team. There is strong potential for growth and room to make the role your own. Knowledge and understanding of elections and/or previous experience working at elections is desirable.
