Job Description
The Role
The University wishes to appoint a lecturer for a fixed term to teach Breton through the medium of Welsh. The successful candidate will be an individual with a sound grasp of written and spoken Breton and Welsh; be able to teach language at university level; and be able to work as part of a team as well as independently. Please note that this is a Teaching and Scholarship post, and the appointee will not be expected to contribute research output or to contribute formally to the Department’s research profile.
The Department's teaching portfolio in Welsh and Celtic Studies spans a broad historical and cultural range and the successful candidate will be joining a Department that emphasises learning embedded in first-class research. The Department is part of the School of Languages and Literature and this position will therefore be a good opportunity for candidates who are eager to collaborate with academics across a variety of linguistic and literary fields to enrich their teaching and research profiles.
This is a fixed term appointment of 9 months, to commence on 21 September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
