Band 7 Practitioner Psychologist in Diabetes
Join to apply for the Band 7 Practitioner Psychologist in Diabetes role at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical psychologist to develop multidisciplinary team working skills within a busy paediatric diabetes team. The post is based at the Royal Free Hospital, supporting the paediatric diabetes team and working with children, young people, and their families. Responsibilities include specialist assessments, brief interventions in outpatient and inpatient settings, and supporting service development to meet best practice standards in paediatric diabetes. The post involves working alongside another Band 7 clinical psychologist and being part of a wider psychology team, with access to network groups, training events, and collaboration opportunities.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and within a multidisciplinary team, able to travel between trust sites, promote psychological principles, and confident in clinical skills. We welcome applications from newly qualified psychologists and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
The role involves providing psychological assessments and treatments, offering advice and consultation to colleagues, managing a clinical caseload, and contributing to service development. The post also includes attending supervision, engaging in CPD, and working with children, young people, and families living with diabetes.
Additional benefits include flexible working arrangements, annual leave starting at 27 days plus bank holidays, and a supportive hospital environment in Hampstead. The Trust values respect, communication, and delivering equitable care.
