SUMMARY
The Race Production Operative will be responsible for operating a variety of CNC milling and turning centres in the Race Production workshop. Working alongside senior members of the team to produce aluminium components to a high standard and working to tight tolerances. Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checking the parts correctly using a variety of measuring instruments is critical in this role.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Operate CNC milling/turning centres efficiently to minimise machine downtime;
* Follow SOPs to maintain consistent quality standards;
* Count and pick raw component materials as detailed in the works orders;
* Use MHE to move pallets of stock and swarf bins;
* Maintain the clean and tidy nature of the workshop at all times;
* Adhere to Health & Safety best practices, rules and regulations, including wearing the correct PPE;
* Support stock counts and inventory checks;
* Review Work Orders at operation and component levels, advising Production Manager or Production Administrator of any routes or components that need modifying;
* Perform daily maintenance and lubrication routines.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
* CNC milling/turning experience is required;
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings is required;
* Strong focus on quality control/assurance is required;
* Proficiency in the operation of all necessary equipment is required;
* Ability to use a variety of measuring instruments to check work;
* Must be professional, team-oriented and self-motivated;
* Must have the ability to work both as part of a small team and independently;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
* Lifting/moving products (1-10kg);
* Wear PPE for extended periods of time;
* Working conditions are normal for an engineering environment, with moderate noise;
* Normal hours of work will be Monday-Thursday 7:15am-16.30pm and Friday pm with 30 minutes for lunch each day. Total 40.5 hours per week.
