We are the British Forces Broadcasting service. We’ve been bringing media to the UK Armed Forces community since the Second World War.
We’re looking for a passionate and creative Esports Social Media Manager to join us and take ownership of our growing presence across the gaming and esports landscape. This is a genuinely unique role: a chance to merge your love of gaming with meaningful work that reaches and resonates with a community like no other.
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for planning, creating and publishing content across all BFBS Esports social media channels, managing the social media calendar and driving community growth and engagement. You’ll work closely with the Head of Esports and colleagues across the business — from marketing and communications to the creative, news and TV teams — to plan and execute multi-platform campaigns that are on-brand, high quality and aligned with wider BFBS objectives. You’ll get hands‑on capturing content at tournaments, in‑person activations and military esports events, and you’ll use data and insight to continuously sharpen the strategy.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need an authentic passion for gaming and esports, along with a deep understanding of gaming culture and online communities. You should be fluent across the major social platforms — Instagram, Facebook, X and TikTok — and have hands‑on experience creating and editing content for social media using tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva. Experience with live streaming platforms like Twitch or YouTube, and familiarity with community moderation tools such as Discord, would be a real bonus.
The ideal candidate is a self‑starter with strong organisational skills and the creativity to generate original ideas and bring them to life. You’ll be someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, fostering inclusive communities and working collaboratively across a business. Whether you’re front‑of‑camera or behind the scenes, you’ll take ownership of your work and constantly look for ways to innovate and improve.
A willingness to travel to events across the UK, and occasionally overseas, as well as to work some evenings and weekends in line with the gaming calendar, is also essential.
You’ll be part of a small team, able to combine a mix of working from home and from our head office in Chalfont St Peter (2 days a week minimum in the office).
All applicants must be able to demonstrate current eligibility to work in the UK.
