Role
Supervise an administrative team of secretaries and administrative clerks and provide comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling them to operate effectively and efficiently. Ensure the administrative team works in accordance with NHS Lanarkshire’s standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
* Supervise administrative staff and coordinate administrative activities for clinicians.
* Provide comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians.
* Ensure work follows NHS Lanarkshire standard operating procedures.
* Maintain an environment that supports efficient and effective clinical operations.
Qualifications (What we'll need you to bring)
* SVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) plus at least 2 years experience as a medical secretary.
* Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
* Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change.
* Evidence of good communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
* Advanced audio typing skills.
* Evidence of strong competence with relevant IT systems.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Proven ability to work under pressure.
Preferred (It would be great if you also have)
* Possess or be working towards ECDL or equivalent.
* Demonstrable secretarial experience in an equivalent position.
* Supervisory / mentorship experience in an equivalent position.
* Knowledge & understanding of Mental Health Act.
* Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office.
* Ability to prioritise workload and work on own initiative.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Accurate keyboard skills.
Contract type
Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in the Community Mental Health Team within Hunter Health Centre. Working pattern: Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm.
