About the Role: Plan and deliver highly differentiated, engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of children with autism. Create predictable, autism-friendly classroom environments that reduce anxiety and promote learning. Use a range of communication strategies, including PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, and social stories, to support understanding and engagement. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., speech and language therapists, occupational therapists). Promote social development, emotional regulation, and independence alongside academic achievement. About You: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experience teaching children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) is essential. Skilled in using structured approaches such as TEACCH, SCERTS, or other autism-specific strategies (training provided if necessary). Excellent behaviour management skills with a calm, empathetic, and consistent approach. A flexible, creative thinker who is passionate about personalised, inclusive education.
