Overview
Base Location: You will be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Berkshire, Wiltshire, West London, Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire.
Salary: £42,600 - £64,000 + car/allowance (if driving >5,000 business miles per year) + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible working options available. Due to the nature of this role, a full UK Driving Licence is essential.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Contract Manager with developed experience in providing pre- and post-contract quantity surveying / commercial support on a range of one-off and programmes of work within our Distribution business.
You will
* Understand and assist with the development of relationships with main suppliers/contractors.
* Work with Contract Managers to ensure the best approach is taken in sourcing goods, works or services.
* Liaise with peers to review best practice and lessons learned.
* Comply with all safety policies and procedures; promote safe working practices internally and externally to improve safety performance.
* Support the Contract Manager and/or Procurement and Commercial Manager in providing a world-class procurement and commercial service, including: estimating, sourcing management/support, cost and budget management, payment & expenditure management, contract administration, dispute resolution, and general commercial guidance as required.
* Support the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives such as savings in total cost of ownership, value engineering and safety performance.
You will have
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
* Working knowledge and experience of all aspects of commercial management including cost reports, forecasting, risk evaluation, supply chain payments and post-contract change, along with working knowledge of standard industry forms of contract.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure whilst delivering quality output and prioritising requirements.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders outside your own sphere of responsibility.
* Conversant with NEC3 Option A and C.
* Due to the nature of this role, a full UK Driving Licence is essential.
