We are seeking three highly skilled and motivated Financial Investigators to join the South East Regional Crypto Currency Unit at SEROCU. The successful candidates will join an established and nationally recognized team due to the expansion of the existing capability, planned to commence in January 2026.
Applications are invited from accredited Financial Investigators. Those on the development pathway to becoming an accredited Financial Investigator are also encouraged to apply, provided they have established experience working with cryptocurrencies. This restriction acknowledges the challenging development pathway required to learn to track, trace, and seize cryptocurrencies, which is not deemed feasible while also completing the learning required for accreditation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate either a strong background and accreditation as a Financial Investigator with an interest or experience in cryptocurrencies, or a strong background working with cryptocurrencies with an interest in becoming accredited. A high understanding of cryptocurrencies and analytical skills are essential. A commitment to attend and complete relevant training courses is also required.
This role requires adaptability to join a forward-thinking team at the forefront of law enforcement efforts responding to increased cryptocurrency use. It offers a challenging and rewarding environment where no two days are the same.
Our working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We offer flexible and remote working options, with staff required to work from the office two days a week.
Flexibility regarding working hours is necessary to meet operational demands, which may occasionally require working away from home. A full UK Driving Licence is essential. Additionally, you will need to perform on-call duties for immediate response across the South East region.
Due to the nature of the work, security clearance is required, including passing and maintaining vetting level SC and other security checks. Applicants must have resided in the UK for the past five years, with some exemptions possible for overseas or diplomatic service.
More information about security vetting can be found here.
