NHS Forth Valley seeks to appoint a Consultant Breast Radiologist to complete our complement of 17 WTE General Consultant Radiologists. This post is offered on a full time basis working within the symptomatic breast service and providing cross board support but part time working is also an option. Sessions can also be worked within breast screening. The breast service has cross board working arrangements in place with NHS Fife, Lanarkshire and Dumfries and Galloway. This post will include a cross-board commitment to support NHS Dumfries and Galloway and there is an option to do remote and rural general radiology sessions in addition supporting one of the Island Health Boards.
The Radiology Department is a welcoming and cohesive unit; the existing Consultants all have subspecialty interests and Specialist Trainees from both the West and South East Scotland training schemes rotate through the department. There are good relationships with clinical Consultants throughout the hospital.
Forth Valley Royal Hospital serves a population of approximately 310,000 and is just 12 years old, with state of the art digital Radiology equipment. It is set in attractive parkland, and located centrally between, and within easy reach of, Glasgow and Edinburgh by road or rail. Their respective airports are little over half an hour from most parts of Forth Valley and road and rail links are excellent, enjoy low property prices and the option of a city or country lifestyle, and excellent schools whether state or private.
