About the role
As a Supermarket Assistant, you'll help our difference be felt by our customers on every visit, providing the Partner-led service and passion for food that our competitors can't match — passionate Partners serving food lovers! Your drive to go the extra mile will enhance the impression our customers have of the Waitrose brand and encourage their loyalty.
Note: Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.
Additional pay: You will receive a shift premium for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00, paid at the role's minimum pay rate.
Key Responsibilities
* Stock replenishment — ensuring shelves are full and products are correctly placed for customers.
* Fulfilling online customer orders for delivery.
* Reducing wastage through product due diligence and markdowns on near-expiry items.
* Supporting the wider shop team with checkout support, managing Click & Collect orders, and fulfilling customer requests.
* Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment.
Essential skills/experience
* Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction.
Desirable skills/experience
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Knowledge and interest in food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the branch as needed.
