Service Care Solutions is working with a reputable local authority, based in Derbyshire, which is looking to recruit an experienced Criminal Prosecutions Lawyer to join its team. This is a fantastic role for a qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive with strong criminal litigation and advocacy experience looking for a varied caseload within the public sector. Role: Criminal Prosecutions Lawyer Location: Local Authority – Derbyshire Umbrella Rate: £50 - £55ph PAYE Inc. Rate: £43.80 - £48.15ph Contract Length: 3 months ongoing Key responsibilities will include: Managing criminal prosecution matters from inception through to conclusion. Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court. Providing legal advice to council departments and officers. Preparing summonses, witness statements and prosecution files. Requirements: A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive. Proven experience handling criminal prosecutions. Previous local authority experience desirable but not essential. Strong advocacy skills and ability to attend court regularly. Benefits: Hybrid working. Weekly pay – the rate offered will depend on experience and interview performance.
