About the Role
The scope of the Plant and Logistic function is the integrated support of CWA portions. This includes the planning, design, execution and seamless integration, including the management, of plant workshops, stores, reinforcement cut & bend factory and concrete batching plants.
This role is focused on technical support and includes elements of planning the sequence of works on site, logistic studies, definition of temporary works and management/support of subcontractor. The role requires working collaboratively with the CWA Delivery team, CWA Engineering, Principal Contractor, Principal Designer and wider methods engineering and subcontractor teams.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assist the Project Manager in day-to-day tasks during the pre-construction phase
* Review subcontractor design deliverables including drawings, 3D models, risk registers and construction plans
* Generate site installation drawings, time slices and 4D construction sequences
* Support pre-construction design and methods development into construction delivery
* Support construction methodology solutions development in line with design development
* Support the development of construction sequencing following Method-led Construction principles
* Support the integration of temporary works design with permanent works design through the application of sound engineering principles
* Develop temporary works schemes for a project and draft design briefs
* Develop logistics strategies to support methodology and create logistics plans
* Coordinate and collaborate with discipline specialists (both in-house and external) on multiple concurrent projects, either at bid, pre-construction, or early construction stages, adopting the Method-led Construction approach
* Develop and visualise construction schedules using 4D planning tools to support methodology options
* Support the adoption of modern methods of construction to improve productivity
* Identify risks, support mitigation development, and record lessons learnt
* Utilise BIM tools (Navisworks, AutoCAD) to enhance design coordination and construction planning
* Identify ambiguities within design, propose changes, and raise RFI, FCR, TQY
Knowledge & Skills
* Project experience in complex or major complex project environments (Site Engineer / Section Engineer level or equivalent)
* Up-to-date knowledge of construction methodologies
* Understanding of project planning and resourcing
* Knowledge of industry standard safe systems of work
* Responsible for CDM Regulations compliance
* Applied knowledge of modern methods of construction and digital planning tools
* Proficient with digital models and BIM environments (e.g., Navisworks)
* Deadline-focused outputs
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Facilitation skills
* Proficient in AutoCAD for technical drawing and design coordination
* Proficient in BIM tools, particularly Navisworks, for model review and 4D sequencing
* Ability to generate site installation drawings, time slices, and 4D construction sequences
* Experience reviewing subcontractor design deliverables including drawings, models, and risk registers
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in a relevant discipline
* Previous experience in civil construction or mechanical industry
* CSCS card
Desirable
* Confidence to propose innovative solutions and challenge conventional construction approaches constructively
* Experience in nuclear industry
* Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor experience
42 hours per week
