General information Reference 2025-2333 Function Onshore – Asset Job title Plater Superintendent Job description We are currently seeking candidates for 2 year fixed term positions at Hinkley Point C location. We would be looking to deploy in January and March 2026. This role will be responsible for promoting and maintaining health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are implemented in support of a positive Nuclear Safety Culture. Provide oversight and coordination of multiple plating teams, each led by a non-working Supervisor, to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient delivery to specification, schedule, and project requirements. Key Deliverables: Champion safety and quality for all plating activities, ensuring a culture that supports nuclear safety and productivity. Coordinate and oversee the activities of multiple plating teams, ensuring delivery to specification, safety, quality, and schedule Provide technical instruction, resources, and support to Supervisors and their teams to enable effective delivery. Deliver safety briefs and toolbox talks, ensuring all team members understand requirements for new or unfamiliar activities. Monitor and check the work of teams to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and time parameters. Identify, monitor, and manage issues affecting productivity, developing and implementing improvements. Produce and review programmes and schedules for plating activities, ensuring alignment with project critical path. Liaise with Engineering, Project Management, and other discipline teams to resolve technical queries and coordinate interdependent activities. Lead, coach, and support Supervisors, including performance management, training, and development. Ensure compliance with all site and company health, safety, and environmental requirements. Profile Qualifications and Work Experience: Essential: Level 3 Apprenticeship OR Level 3 Diploma in Plating, Fabrication, Welding, Structural Steelwork, Shipbuilding Essential: ACE Card Level 3 in Plating (or equivalent) Essential: CCNSG Safety Passport Essential: Completion of ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE (within 6 months of start date upon demonstration of enrolment) OR Completion of Nuclear Engineering Construction Supervisor (NECS) within 4 weeks of start date upon demonstration of booking and CMI Level 3 (following completion of NECS) Essential: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) & IOSH Managing Safely Essential: Demonstrable experience as a team leader or supervisor of operatives on-site, preferably in a nuclear or high-risk environment Essential: Experience in managing multi-disciplined teams delivering within a large-scale construction or engineering project Essential: Experience in performance management, coaching, and developing teams Desirable: Connected Competence (https://connectedcompetence.co.uk/disciplines/) Job Specific Knowledge: Essential: Technical competence in plating/fabrication to the equivalent of trade competency qualifications Essential: Commercial acumen relating to on-site productivity, wastage, and time/hours Essential: Understanding of nuclear safety culture and regulatory requirements Skills: Essential: Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills Essential: Effective communication and engagement abilities Essential: Ability to build effective relationships across disciplines and levels Essential: Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
