The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for recruiting, developing, and leading a team of veterinary business managers to implement company strategy and deliver key business objectives across a geographical sales region.
The RSM is responsible for achieving sales growth targets within the VET-business, reaching all quantitative and qualitative targets with maximum return on investment in a challenging and ever-changing business environment. They must meet commercial targets while upholding the Mars five principles and the vision of Royal Canin.
The RSM will manage, develop, and motivate a performance-driven sales team through excellent leadership, ensuring individual and team goals are achieved. They will oversee all team processes and workflows to ensure efficiency and accurate forecasting of future demands.
As an organization, Mars and Royal Canin heavily invest in employee development. The role holder will be responsible for ongoing development, in-field coaching, engagement, talent identification, and succession planning within the sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct management of Veterinary Business Managers (VBMs).
* Lead the sales team in alignment with Royal Canin’s strategies and values, embodying Mars principles.
* Coach field sales team members to develop skills and meet targets.
* Maintain good account management and sales principles.
* Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
* Handle administrative tasks such as expenses and leave management.
* Conduct regular reviews with VBMs to monitor KPIs and implement performance improvements.
* Develop comprehensive annual Personal Development Plans for each VBM.
* Foster positive team engagement.
* Conduct quarterly and annual appraisals aligned with PDP and business goals.
Collaborate with the Pet Professional team to execute business strategies, negotiate agreements, analyze market and customer needs, manage merchandising strategies, set sales targets, and analyze results.
* Provide timely reports and information as requested.
* Assist in setting and monitoring KPIs for the VBM team.
* Facilitate sales training.
Effectively recruit and onboard new VBMs in line with Mars five principles.
Work closely with other departments such as Key Accounts, Pro Team, Retail, and Nutrition 360 to meet business objectives.
Enhance Royal Canin’s recommendation rate, physical availability, distribution, and scientific image within clinics to reach more pets. Develop sales opportunities within existing and new customers.
