Job Title: Lead Data Analyst
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Alderley Park
Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based
Closing date: 11th May 2026
We’re hiring a Lead Data Analyst to help re‑imagine how Royal London monitors and improves customer outcomes.
Sitting within the Customer Outcomes and Insight team, this role exists to design and embed the data tools, automation and controls that underpin our Consumer Duty and outcome monitoring approach.
You’ll work on impactful projects including building scalable data products, automated dashboards and Board‑level reporting that help the business understand customer outcomes and take meaningful action.
By reducing manual effort and strengthening data quality and governance, you’ll enable teams to focus on insight, judgement and improving experiences for our customers.
We’re not looking for someone to simply refine existing reporting, this role is about re‑imagining how customer outcome monitoring works end‑to‑end.
As Lead Data Analyst, you’ll help shape a future‑state approach: redesigning processes, data flows and insight so that outcome monitoring is automated, scalable, trusted and drives customer focused change across the business.
This is a rare opportunity to influence both what we do and how we do it, and to leave a lasting imprint on how Royal London monitors and improves customer outcomes.
About the role
* Lead the re‑design of Royal London’s outcome monitoring data and reporting approach, setting the vision for a scalable, future‑focused model.
* Design and build scalable, automated data products that underpin a reimagined approach to outcome monitoring and Consumer Duty reporting
* Translate regulatory and business requirements into robust, well‑governed data solutions and reporting
* Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, datasets and data models used by senior stakeholders and Boards
* Reduce manual effort by automating data pipelines, controls and reporting processes
* Act as a bridge between outcome monitoring teams and data platforms, ensuring data is usable, trusted and consistent
* Drive improvements in data quality, governance and documentation, enabling confident insight and decision‑making
* Provide valuable input to shape the future‑state operating model for outcome insight, defining how data is sourced, governed, automated and translated into action at scale.
About you
* Strong experience with Power BI (data modelling, DAX and dashboard design) and advanced SQL with the confidence to challenge existing approaches and design better ones
* Proven track record of building scalable, automated data pipelines and reporting solutions
* Experience working within the Microsoft data ecosystem, including Microsoft Fabric
* Ability to work with technical and non-technical teams to translate business and regulatory requirements into clear, well‑governed data solutions
* Essential experience working in financial services or another regulated environment
* Strong understanding of data quality, controls, governance and documentation in shared data environments
* Comfortable operating in ambiguity, with the ability to define problems, design new approaches and bring stakeholders with you through change.
