Job Summary
We seek a skilled Network Engineer with at least 5 years of experience. The candidate should have a strong understanding of network Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4 protocols, Wireless protocols, and experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure. A CCNA certification (or higher) obtained within the last 5 years is required. Knowledge of SD-WAN and SASE is highly desirable. This role is remote, with occasional travel. A full UK driving license is required.
The working hours are static: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (GMT/BST), Monday to Friday. The role involves being part of an on-call rota (once every 5 weeks) for out-of-hours support.
Job Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure ensuring high availability and security.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across layers and platforms, including wireless, AWS, and Azure.
Support and maintain cloud WAF.
Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patches.
Collaborate with IT teams for seamless integration.
Implement and manage Meraki, Ubiquiti, and SASE solutions.
Support incident resolution and request tickets.
Document network configurations and procedures.
Travel for on-site support when needed.
Stay updated on emerging networking technologies.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Minimum 5 years in network engineering.
Deep knowledge of networking protocols (Ethernet, IP, TCP/IP, BGP) and wireless protocols (WPA3, Wi-Fi 6E/7).
Current CCNA or higher certification (within last 5 years).
Basic understanding of SD-WAN and SASE.
Experience with Cisco Meraki hardware and Dashboard.
Proficiency with routers, switches, firewalls, and troubleshooting.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively.
Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications like CCNP, JNCIA, etc.
Experience with cloud networking, automation, security solutions.
Experience with Ubiquiti networking solutions.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
