The Role:
We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Web Design Officer to join our Communications team. Reporting to the Web Design Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping the digital experience for our statutory and income-generating services. You’ll be responsible for planning, developing, and managing web content, with a strong focus on accessibility and user experience.
Please note this role is 29.6 hours per week, with the working pattern to be agreed (must include Thursday).
What you’ll do:
1. Design and publish engaging, accessible webpages using HTML, CSS and the Sitecore Content Management System
2. Deliver day-to-day website maintenance and BAU content updates within the Sitecore CMS, including structured content creation such as listings, searches and larger sets of content
3. Collaborate with designers and campaign and brand officers to bring creative concepts to life
4. Develop wireframes and visual layouts using digital design tools to support page structure and user journeys
5. Use SEO principles, data, and analytics to refine content and improve performance of webpages
6. Ensure seamless functionality across devices and browsers
7. Maintain high visual standards and compliance with WCAG and brand guidelines
What we’re looking for:
8. Significant and relevant hands-on experience using the Sitecore Content Management System in a professional environment
9. Experience using GA4 and creating performance reports/dashboards in Looker Studio to inform content decisions
10. Proven experience in web content creation and web page design using HTML and CSS, with a portfolio of web design work demonstrating your skills
11. Strong expertise in applying accessibility standards (WCAG) in practice, including the use of semantic HTML and accessibility attributes
12. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a flair for creativity
13. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
14. Proficiency in Office 365 (e.g. Planner, Excel, Teams, Outlook) for day-to-day communication and task management
