Job Title: Maintenance Operative
Location: Sedgefield
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum
Vehicle: Pool vehicle available for on-site use
Role Overview:
The Maintenance Operative will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance and handy-person duties across the site. This includes routine repairs, reactive maintenance, and ensuring that all facilities are safe, functional, and well-presented.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor electrical work.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and issues.
Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds.
Assist with room setups and operational support as needed.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of work completed.
Participate in the call-out rota (1 in 4 to 1 in 6 weeks)Call-Out & Overtime Details:
Standby pay: £150 per week when on call
Overtime rates:
Saturday: 4 hours at time and a half
Sunday/Bank Holiday: 4 hours at double time
Estimated annual uplift: Approximately £5,000 from standby and overtime.Person Specification:
Experience in general maintenance or facilities support.
Practical knowledge of basic trades.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to participate in the call-out rota.
