We are looking for a nurturing, enthusiastic and proactive EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant Early Years team. In this role, you will support our youngest learners as they take their first steps into education, helping to create a warm, inspiring and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Location: Burnley
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time (depending on school needs)
Start Date: Monday 1st September 2026
Salary: £14.30 - £15 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate activities
- Work with small groups and individual children to support learning and personal development
- Assist in creating a safe, stimulating and well-organised learning environment
- Encourage positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Observe and record children’s progress in line with EYFS requirements
- Contribute ideas to enhance learning experiences and classroom practice
- Help manage children’s personal care needs where required
- Promote the school’s values and uphold high standards of safeguarding
We’re Looking For Someone Who…
- Has experience working with children in an early years or primary setting
- Understands the EYFS framework and child development
- Is warm, patient, and passionate about supporting young learners
- Can use their initiative and work effectively within a team
- Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships
- Is committed to creating a safe, inclusive and happy learning environment
- Holds (or is working towards) a relevant qualification such as Level 2/3 in Teaching & Learning or Early Years (desirable but not essential)
