About The Role
The Debt Recovery team is part of the Domestic Debt department. The team manages debt recovery activities through external agencies, collaborates with other departments to resolve issues affecting debt collection, and handles end-to-end processing of bereavement accounts, insolvencies, and Power of Attorney recordings.
The role
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract. As Team Leader, you will oversee daily team management, support team members' performance, develop skills through coaching, and plan succession. You will liaise with third-party partners, seek process efficiencies, and ensure compliance with industry regulations, supporting internal and external audits.
The role requires accuracy and a customer-focused approach, supporting customers in managing their debt and seeking independent help where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and develop the team, supporting their potential and performance
* Set and monitor KPIs and objectives
* Conduct regular performance reviews and manage absence
* Address performance issues with support plans, quality checks, and coaching
* Collaborate with Training & Quality teams to improve processes
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies
* Become an SME in debt recovery policies and share knowledge
* Manage service levels and support departmental initiatives
* Plan staffing resources effectively
* Handle escalations and complex customer queries
* Manage relationships with debt collection agencies and third parties
* Be aware of budget and costs related to debt recovery
* Support audits and implement necessary actions
* Monitor workload and manage resources accordingly
* Perform other duties as required
About You
You are passionate about customer service, experienced in team management, coaching, and performance driving. You will support your team in achieving their goals, reporting to the Debt Recovery Manager.
