Audit Manager

This is an excellent opportunity for an Audit Manager to join a modern and expanding firm in Edinburgh. You’ll take responsibility for leading audit engagements, developing staff and maintaining strong client relationships within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
As Audit Manager, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality statutory audits across a varied portfolio of clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of audit clients across a range of industries
- Leading audits from planning through to completion, ensuring high technical standards
- Preparing risk assessments, audit plans and resource requirements
- Reviewing audit files, financial statements and supporting working papers
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing clear and commercially focused advice
- Supervising, coaching and mentoring Audit Seniors, Semi Seniors and trainees
- Ensuring audit work is completed efficiently, within deadlines and in line with professional standards
- Supporting senior leadership with workflow planning, process improvement and technical initiatives
- Identifying opportunities to add value for clients and support wider business development
This position combines hands‑on technical responsibility with leadership and client management.
About You
You’ll be a confident and commercially aware audit professional with strong leadership skills.
- Be ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Have significant external audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Be comfortable managing audit assignments end‑to‑end
- Possess excellent technical knowledge of auditing standards and UK GAAP/FRS 102
- Have experience supervising and developing junior staff
- Be proactive, well organised and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and a professional, client‑focused approach
- Bring a positive attitude and a commitment to supporting team growth
