This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Band 6 clinician looking to provide specialist assessment and rehabilitation for adults with neurological conditions within a community setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality Speech and Language Therapy services to adults presenting with communication and swallowing difficulties following neurological injury or illness. You will work closely within a multi-disciplinary team to support patients in achieving meaningful rehabilitation goals and improving their quality of life. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: • Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy services to adults referred to the community neuro rehabilitation service. • Conduct comprehensive and multi-disciplinary assessments, taking into consideration premorbid abilities, environmental factors, and individual patient needs. • Deliver differential diagnosis of communication and/or swallowing impairments. • Develop and implement personalised therapy programmes with clear SMART goals tailored to the patient’s level of understanding, motivation, insight, and support network. • Support patients with self-management strategies and rehabilitation planning. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards. • Work collaboratively with the wider multi-disciplinary team to deliver holistic patient care. Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this role, you must have: • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent). • HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). • Previous experience working within adult neuro rehabilitation services. • Experience assessing and managing adults with communication and swallowing difficulties. • Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and care planning skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.
