Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a National Account Executive, ideally based in the M4 corridor with the flexibility to work from home as well as our office in Bracknell (will consider full remote working depending on candidate UK location). The National Account Executive (NAE) supports commercial growth and day‑to‑day account management across our brand portfolio. This role is an excellent development opportunity for an ambitious sales professional looking to build expertise in FMCG account management, category insight, and commercial planning.

Working closely with the National Account Manager and Channel leads, the NAE will assist in managing the commercial relationship across the full brand portfolio from promotional execution and trade investment tracking through to supply chain coordination and in‑store compliance helping to deliver sustainable, profitable growth for the business.


Key responsibilities


Account Support & Administration

* Supporting the senior team in the development and delivery of the annual Joint Business Plan (JBP), coordinating internal inputs and tracking progress against agreed milestones.
* Assisting in preparing for buyer meetings and business reviews, compiling data, building presentation materials, and updating tracking documents.
* Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date account files, promotional plans, and commercial trackers across all our brands.
* Acting as a key point of contact for day‑to‑day buyer queries, responding promptly and escalating where appropriate.


Commercial & P&L Support

* Supporting the team in monitoring account including P&L performance across all our brands, flagging risks and opportunities versus.
* Assisting in tracking and reconciling trade spend (promotional investment, overriders, volume bonuses, listing fees), ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
* Helping build and maintain rolling 12‑month promotional investment plans by brand, supporting spend evaluation and post‑promotional analysis.
* Contributing to monthly forecasting processes by gathering data inputs and preparing financial summaries for review.


Brand Portfolio Support

* Assisting in developing tailored commercial plans for each of our brands within the account, reflecting their individual positioning and growth ambitions.
* Supporting the coordination of NPD launches, seasonal activations, and promotional mechanics, working with Marketing and Brand teams to prepare customer‑facing materials.
* Helping manage range listing and distribution tracking across in‑store and online channels, ensuring data is current and accurately reflects agreed range architecture.
* Conducting regular store visits to check in‑store compliance, promotional execution, and brand representation, reporting findings back to the Head of Department.


Promotional & Trade Investment Management

* Supporting the Head of Channel in preparing category and shopper insight materials for buyer presentations, drawing on market data, competitor analysis, and category trends.
* Helping compile trade stories and sell‑in decks using retailer data, brand pipelines, and category strategies.
* Assisting in the preparation of space and range proposals, gathering data and building supporting analysis.
* Monitoring online listings supporting on .com optimisations.
* Monitoring competitor activity and market dynamics, flagging relevant developments to the wider commercial team.


Cross Functional Coordination

* Liaising with Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and Category teams to support flawless customer delivery and resolve day‑to‑day operational issues.
* Helping coordinate forecasting inputs and stock availability monitoring, escalating supply risks promptly.
* Supporting Revenue Operations and Finance with promotional pricing and investment tracking.
* Representing a proactive, solutions‑oriented approach when working across internal functions.


What we’re looking for


Knowledge & Experience

* Prior experience in an FMCG sales, account management or trade marketing environment (including internship or graduate scheme experience).
* Exposure to working with major UK retailers — pharmacy, grocery, or health & beauty channels preferred.
* Understanding of promotional mechanics, trade investment, and basic P&L principles an advantage.


Skills & Education

* Commercially curious, eager to understand how the P&L works and how trade decisions drive business outcomes.
* Passion for FMCG Retail (e.g. Boots, Superdrug, Holland & Barrett) with an interest in shoppers and how great category management creates value.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable building data‑led presentations and commercial trackers.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and draw out actionable insights.
* Organised and detail oriented, ability to manage multiple workstreams accurately and to deadline.
* Ambitious and growth‑minded, keen to develop quickly and take on increasing commercial responsibility.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive style. Builds trust through reliability, follow‑through and a positive team attitude.
