UNQUALIFIED Learning Support Assistant – Newport (NP19)
£89.38 per day (increasing in April)
Monday – Friday (Full-time and part-time roles available)
8:30am – 3:30pm – No weekends

We are delighted to be working in partnership with a primary school in Newport (NP19) who are currently looking to recruit Learning Support Assistants to join their team as soon as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact in education. While the setting is mainstream, there may also be opportunities to work 1:1 with pupils who require additional support.

Classrooms are supported by experienced teachers alongside Learning Support Assistants, helping to ensure pupils receive the guidance and support they need throughout the school day.

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting pupils in the classroom with their learning activities
Providing additional support to pupils who may need extra help, including potential 1:1 support
Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and behaviour management
Helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment
Encouraging pupil independence and confidence
Supporting pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities where required
Full guidance and support will be provided by both Teaching Personnel and the school, ensuring you feel confident in your role.
Requirements
To apply for this role you will need:
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – we can help)
Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration (we can help you apply)
Ability to travel to Newport (NP19) for 8:30am – 3:30pm
Two professional references
A positive, proactive attitude and passion for supporting young people
Previous experience in education or working with young people is beneficial but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
