Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Rotherham

We’re working with several primary schools across Rotherham that are on the lookout for reliable, passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join their teams. These schools have strong, structured support systems and are proud of their inclusive, collaborative approach. If you’re confident leading small groups and love helping pupils progress, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Delivering small group interventions across core subjects
2. Supporting class teachers with planning and prep
3. Stepping up to lead learning sessions when required
4. Playing a key role in creating a positive and calm learning environment
5. Helping children stay on track—emotionally and academically
What We’re Looking For:
6. Previous experience as a HLTA in primary settings
7. Solid knowledge of the national curriculum
8. Flexibility to adapt to different classroom styles and routines
9. A strong team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
10. Someone confident with behaviour management and school procedures

11. Show initiative and independence in supporting learning
12. Build brilliant relationships with staff and pupils
13. Follow safeguarding and school policies to the letter

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
