Position
Senior Manager for Community Mental Health Services within the North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership Mental Health Services, based between Cunningham House and Three Towns Resource Centre in North Ayrshire. This is a permanent position.
Hours
36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work evenings if required. Participation in the North Ayrshire mental health senior manager Out of Hours on call rota (approximately 2 days per month) which covers Monday to Friday overnight and full days at weekends. From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part‑time staff) without loss of earnings.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role as travel between bases is required.
What You Will Do
You will support the Head of Service in strategic management, development and performance of Community Mental Health Services, taking a lead role in delivering organisational change that seeks to embed a culture and practice of the Health and Social Care Partnership in order to ensure delivery of the Partnership’s key objectives. You will ensure the Service meets its commitment to the delivery of the strategic plan and world‑class services. As such the post holder will accept delegated accountability within the North Partnership for the delivery of staff standards of health and social care, ensuring a focus on service user safety, effective management of resources, continuous improvement, staff training and development, and education and research within Community Mental Health services.
Responsible for a specific span of control, the Senior Manager will manage the Community Mental Health service resource and secure operational delivery of the range of services, ensuring optimum use of available resources in achieving safe standards of care. Provide professional and operational leadership to the staff, provide professional leadership for the Health and Social Care Governance arrangements and provide professional advice to the Head of Service and other groups.
Knowledge, Training and/or Experience Required For This Post
* Master’s level degree or evidence of higher education / equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated evidence of CPD.
* Demonstration of management competencies.
* Demonstrated management of change.
* Demonstrated leadership competencies.
* Influencing and negotiating skills to deal with a range of challenging situations including interpretation of data and decision making.
* Registered with professional body or appropriate body.
