Part-Time Court Usher - Walsall & Birmingham Courts
Location: Predominantly Walsall WS2 | Fortnightly Thursdays in Birmingham B4
Hours: Part-time - Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (9AM-5PM flexibility needed)
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
Contract: Temporary assignment until September 2026 (with potential to extend)
Working Pattern: Fully onsite

We're looking for a professional and approachable Court Usher to support a busy Public Sector department across Walsall and Birmingham courts.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking part-time hours, enjoys working in a formal setting, and would take pride in being part of the justice system.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing courtrooms (e.g. setting out pads, pens, water)
2. Organising and maintaining court schedules
3. Handling court files and legal documents
4. Directing visitors, court users, and witnesses to the correct rooms
5. Supporting the smooth running of hearings
6. Recording hearing outcomes and data entry
7. Engaging with court users, legal professionals, and senior staff
What We're Looking For:
8. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
9. Comfortable dealing with members of the public and senior stakeholders
10. Reliable, punctual, and well-presented
11. Competent with Microsoft Office and data entry tasks
12. Ability to remain calm and professional in a formal environment
Important Information:
13. This role requires an Enhanced DBS check (processed free of charge)
14. You must be able to provide three years of references
