You’ll be joining a well‑established organisation within the Blackpool tourism sector, currently experiencing a busy period and seeking additional support within their finance team. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive environment where accuracy, teamwork and a hands‑on approach are valued. Due to increased workload, they are looking for an Assistant Accountant on a temporary basis, with the strong possibility of the role bing permanent for the right person.
Your new role
As the Assistant Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the finance function with a variety of tasks, including:
1. Assisting with month‑end processes
2. Preparing journals and supporting reconciliations
3. Processing invoices and supporting Accounts Payable where needed
4. Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
5. Supporting the Finance Manager with ad‑hoc reporting and analysis
6. Helping maintain accurate financial records across the department
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys getting involved in different areas of finance and contributing to a busy, collaborative team.
What you'll need to succeed
7. Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
8. Strong understanding of transactional finance
9. Good Excel skills and experience with accounting software
10. A proactive, organised approach with strong attention to detail
11. Hospitality or tourism sector experience is desirable
12. Ability to work well within a team and managepeting deadlines
You will have worked in a similar position recently and be able to hit the ground running.
