Responsibilities
* Assisting on nationally important infrastructure projects, working as a team to manage project programmes and budgets.
* Planning and undertaking field surveys; analysing and interpreting survey results.
* Assisting in designing and co-ordinating ecological mitigation.
* Authoring a range of ecological reports and licence applications.
* Managing work enquiries, preparing bids and building client relationships.
* Collaborating with our multi-disciplinary teams and undertaking stakeholder engagement.
* Supporting the development of a portfolio of ecological work in the South, by building a network with internal and external clients within the Southern England region and UK-wide.
Qualifications
* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or in the process of applying for membership (AtkinsRéalis to cover membership costs) (desirable but not essential).
* A degree or masters in ecology or a closely related field (desirable but not essential).
* Demonstrable ecological knowledge and experience.
* Strong botanical skills, including Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC), or demonstrable botanical ability matching this level (desirable but not essential).
* Working knowledge and experience of UK Habitat survey, habitat condition assessments, and the Defra Biodiversity Metric. Demonstrable experience of undertaking Biodiversity Net Gain assessments (desirable but not essential).
* A full, clean UK driving licence.
