About The Role
Excellent opportunity for Mental Health Support Workers to provide holistic, recovery-focused support to clients with mental health issues within EEDMHS. At Salvation Army Homes, we are committed to delivering comprehensive, high-quality housing services, support, and resettlement.
The Mental Health Support Worker will engage creatively with a caseload of clients based on their support needs, aiming to develop skills and resources to transform their lives and promote independent living. Responsibilities include providing high-quality support through 1:1 and group sessions, and collaborating closely with external partner agencies.
The role involves:
* Supporting and accompanying clients to attend essential appointments (e.g., health, debts, housing)
* Advising clients on accessing housing, health, welfare, benefits, and other resources
* Supporting medication management when required
* Engaging residents in service development
* Assessing potential new clients
* Liaising with external agencies, including health professionals
* Managing incidents or challenging behavior
* Developing person-centered Support Plans and Risk Management Plans, maintaining accurate records
About The Candidate
You should have knowledge of the support needs of individuals with complex mental health issues or experience in social care. You will work in alignment with Salvation Army Homes' values, demonstrating energy, passion, and a positive attitude.
