About the role
Based across East Sussex and Surrey schools with occasional travel to the office in Orpington. The People department offers and provides a full generalist and specialist service to the college. You will provide strong People Business Partnering to all levels across the business and ensure the delivery of the People strategy and its underpinning operational deliverables, with a focus on the employee lifecycle, employee relations, organizational change and OD activities, People analytics, upskilling and coaching managers, organizational effectiveness and building future capabilities. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver an effective customer-friendly People Service.
Responsibilities
* Provide in-depth People Generalist experience and technical knowledge to support the organisation.
* Manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality delivery.
* Communicate professionally to a wide range of employees, including Senior Leaders, with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Influence and build strong relationships; adapt to a high degree of change.
* Self-motivate with enthusiasm and determination to achieve results; take a practical and common sense approach to People matters.
* Lead and develop team members and collaborate with other Senior colleagues.
Key Experiences and Skills
* Educated to degree level or equivalent; fully CIPD qualified.
* Previous People experience in a generalist role at a senior level or as a People Business Partner covering all HR disciplines.
* Good working knowledge of employment law, its application in practice and procedures.
* Well-developed business partnering skills and awareness of the education or public sector.
* Ability to manage a diverse workload in a fast-moving environment; effective under pressure with strong prioritisation and delivery skills.
* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities; highly organized with excellent planning skills.
* Self-motivated, driven, and a team player able to assimilate information.

* Strong generalist experience both operational and strategic.
* A practical, proactive approach and the ability to coach managers and build capability.
