Job Overview
We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our multi‑disciplinary rotation covering medicine, stroke, surgery, hand therapy, orthotics, neurosurgery, emergency department and critical care. The role provides an opportunity to develop core OT skills, gain experience across varied specialties, and accelerate your career progress.
Responsibilities
* Attend board rounds, prioritise patients and complete assessments, treatment plans and discharge planning to improve patient flow.
* Conduct functional assessments, problem‑solve and develop strategies to enable patients to achieve independence in day‑to‑day activities.
* Liaise with the multi‑disciplinary team, collaborate closely with physiotherapy colleagues and therapy support workers.
* Support the 7‑day care model where applicable, participating in shift rotations across the rotation.
Qualifications & Attributes
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated flexibility, initiative and excellent interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work in a team and support the Trust’s values and behaviours.
Development and Support
* Band 5 forum, buddy system and comprehensive competency framework.
* In‑service training in each individual team and monthly Occupational Therapy‑led Cognitive and Perceptual training covering attention, memory, insight, capacity and challenging behaviour.
