The Project Design Engineer role involves providing technical modelling support for key projects that meet income targets and maintain client relationships. The role includes monitoring income and collaborating with colleagues across the Council and partners to market services externally.
Experience in providing technical and modelling support for successful project delivery and working collaboratively to achieve shared objectives is essential.
Accountabilities
* Supporting the Project Delivery Manager with on-site supervision of scheme delivery, ensuring projects are completed to specifications, on time, within budget, and compliant with Health and Safety Regulations.
* Building strong relationships with customers, seeking feedback, and identifying improvements to foster a continuous learning environment.
Specific targets and objectives are set annually within the performance management framework.
The Experience You Will Bring
* Degree-level education or equivalent experience in surface water management.
* Commitment to continuous professional development, with membership of a relevant professional body.
* Knowledge of Flood Risk Management, Land Drainage, Asset Management, and LLFA responsibilities.
* Experience managing multiple consultants and contractors, and developing effective multi-agency partnerships.
* Project management experience, including procurement and legal processes.
* Strong communication skills, with experience in preparing and presenting reports and consultations.
* Knowledge of data and asset management, local planning legislation, and hydraulic modelling software such as Micro Drainage.
* Expertise in partnership working, strategic planning, and developing work programmes.
Please note that mobility is required for this role. The post holder needs a driving license and access to a vehicle or alternative mobility means.
