We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and pro‑active Lunchtime Supervisor (OPAL Play) to join our friendly and talented team. The role will be Monday – Friday, 11:55am – 1:10pm, with a start of 1st September 2026 (subject to satisfactory clearances).
Qualifications
* Passionate about providing the best experiences for children

* Can work in partnership with staff, enhancing the culture of teamwork
* Has previous experience working with children
* Can assist children in the dinner hall to choose and eat a healthy lunch, encouraging the use of good manners and social skills
* Able to promote play activities with children and has good organisational skills
* Can be a role model for children and adults by treating them with respect & acting fairly, implementing the school’s Behaviour and Relationship Policy
* Prepared to administer simple First Aid and deal with children who are sick or distressed
* Communicates effectively with staff, pupils and parents
* Able to hand over to staff as necessary
* Confident in speaking with pupils, parents and staff regarding behaviour
Responsibilities
* Supervise, care for, and play with the children both indoors and outdoors during lunchtimes
* Promote good behaviour around school
* Assist children in tidying all areas during and following lunch
* Contribute to the planning and organisation of the OPAL Lunchtime activities
* Work with children aged 4‑11 playing fun activities and games and organise necessary equipment
* Assist the school in establishing an exciting, purposeful and safe lunchtime environment, enabling children to feel secure and happy
* Build positive relationships with the pupils by being friendly and approachable, prioritising their well‑being and welfare during lunchtimes
* Encourage excellent lunchtime behaviour and address any incidents by following the Behaviour and Relationships policy
* Work co‑operatively alongside other members of the lunchtime team and wider school staff
* Encourage and provide positive play opportunities for pupils (OPAL)

Hours: 6.25 hours per week – term time only
Grade: Grade B, SCP 4 (£25,185 p.a.) – Actual Salary, £3,714 – £3,763 p.a.
