We’re looking for an experienced Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join our newly opened Advance Roofing Supplies branch in Bury St Edmunds. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the branch, working closely with customers and colleagues to keep everything running smoothly while helping to grow the business. What you’ll be doing • Serving trade and retail customers at the counter, delivering a great experience every time • Building relationships and generating sales from new and existing customers • Processing orders, quotes, and enquiries accurately and efficiently • Keeping displays well stocked, organised, and presentable • Liaising with suppliers on product availability and pricing • Supporting across the branch, including yard and warehouse duties when required What we’re looking for • Experience in roofing or builders’ merchant sales (essential) • Strong knowledge of roofing materials • A confident, customer-focused approach with a natural ability to sell • Someone who enjoys being part of a small team and getting stuck in • A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one) • Eligible to work in the UK What we offer • Competitive salary • Hours: 7am–5pm Monday to Friday, 7am–12pm alternate Saturdays • Holiday: 23 days plus Bank Holidays • Discretionary bonus scheme • The opportunity to help shape and grow a brand-new branch If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, take pride in delivering great service, and want to be part of building something from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you Since 1994, Advance Roofing Supplies have been supplying the roofing and building trade with top quality roofing supplies.
