We’re looking for a great senior portfolio analyst for our Commercial Energy team.
With a depth of experience in the energy world, strong modelling skills and a great understanding of the drivers of the P&L, you will be perfectly positioned to deliver our modelling and analysis activities across the energy portfolio and customer behaviour, provide actionable insight and work with colleagues in other P&L streams to hit targets. Your commercial and modelling expertise will support the team in highlighting commercial risks via sensitivity and scenario analysis. And your vision and drive will ensure that UW’s energy portfolio is fit for the future.
Here's the key attributes we'll need you to demonstrate to succeed in this role:
3. You will have accumulated a depth of knowledge in the energy industry and competitor market awareness;
4. A degree in a STEM-related subject or equivalent
5. Have experience in driving positive commercial and risk management outcomes
6. Great statistical and portfolio modelling experience
7. Great communication skills with experience of presenting to director-level stakeholders
8. Experience of coaching and developing more junior colleagues
9. Coding skills - SQL/Python are essential (and Big Query experience is desirable)
10. Like to take real accountability for making things happen
11. Love fast-paced, non bureaucratic environments
12. Have a talent for making complex concepts easy for others to understand
13. Are an empathetic team player who collaborates closely with others.

The Energy team at UW is accountable for driving the optimisation of our energy P&L, ensuring our customers get the most from their energy provision. The team look to ensure existing customers have the best deals whilst future-proofing our energy supply and contracts. It's a team of absolute experts who thrive on cutting through the complexity to get to the heart of the commercial drivers of our success.
You'll report into the Head of Commercial Optimisation and work in a small team with high impact.

This role involves being a key player in delivering a substantial and growing energy P&L, managing the key commercial levers to drive target outcomes on our energy supply portfolio, working with colleagues to determine risk and commercial strategy and providing key input into the management of major supplier relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:

16. Own the commercial forecasts of customer numbers
17. Provide ad-hoc insight and analysis
18. Enable strategic decision making on future activities and products
19. Providing insight and analysis for decision making
20. Margin delivery forecasting and actuals analysis
