Taylor Root is working with a UK headquartered, well-established climate charity with an international, expansive footprint. The organisation is looking to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel to work closely with the Head of Legal across a wide range of legal matters.
As part of a lean, warm, and collaborative team, you’ll be working closely with internal stakeholders on high-profile events, partnerships, marketing arrangements, sponsorship, and campaigns. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
* Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts. Developing, updating, and standardising templates and policies.
* Supporting the Head of Legal in improving processes and optimising how legal work with the organisation.
* Identifying and mitigating legal risks across partnerships and projects. Providing clear and pragmatic advice so that teams can make informed decision-making.
* Providing advice on data protection requirements, including GDPR.
* Supporting business teams, including Finance, HR, and Operations on ad hoc queries.
This is a broad role that would suit someone who’s keen to join and support an organisation that is high-profile and international that is keen to make an impact. It would suit someone who is collegiate, supportive, calm, and pragmatic.
Profile required:
* Qualified solicitor, in England and Wales or a common-wealth jurisdiction, with at least 5 years’+ PQE.
* Demonstrable experience drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts.
* Solid GDPR/data privacy experience.
* In-house experience preferable.
* Someone with high integrity, professionalism, and collegiality.
