We’re seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Assistant to join our finance team in Ystrad Mynach.
Reporting to the Management Accountant this is a well-rounded finance role ideal for someone who enjoys working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be involved in everything from monthly reporting and reconciliations to VAT returns audit support and budgeting, making this a great opportunity to grow your finance career.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate revenue data.
* Conduct profit & loss analysis and compile monthly financial reports.
* Maintain fixed asset register and load trade agreement documents into system.
* Perform foreign exchange revaluations and intercompany netting.
* Prepare VAT returns and monitor daily bank statements for reconciliation.
* Support Management Accounting with inventory reserve calculations.
* Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely invoicing.
* Assist with internal and external audits providing necessary documentation.
* Contribute to budget planning and forecasting processes.
* Handle ad-hoc finance tasks and provide cross-functional support as needed.
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in accounts or finance roles is essential.
* AAT Qualified (or currently studying) or equivalent finance qualification.
* Communication skills especially when speaking with customers.
* High attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
* Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
* Experience of working with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities within the department.
