Job Overview The Role This is an exciting and new position in the Prep School for a candidate who would like a broad and varied role within a school setting. The successful candidate will be committed to providing proactive support to our science department and to colleagues in the Prep School. Hours: 20 hours per week for 36 weeks per year (34 weeks term time, plus inset days, plus 2 weeks in the holidays. During the holidays we can be flexible on how the hours are worked. The Duties And Responsibilities Comprise Of Four Main Parts Providing support for the science department. This may include: Ensuring the availability of suitable materials and equipment and obtaining costs for materials, compiling and placing orders. Preparing, dismantling and cleaning materials and equipment for practical lessons as specified by teaching staff and delivering equipment to teaching rooms. Overview of Health & Safety including risk assessments of practical work. Carrying out visual checks of all equipment in all rooms before being used by pupils. Providing a backup service for lessons so that extras, deficiencies, faults or spare equipment may be available for lesson continuity. Keep the sinks and worktops clean; stock rooms and cupboards clean, tidy and in good order. Assist with administrative tasks and attend staff meetings as directed.
