You'll work on cutting-edge MEP design across iconic UK projects, gaining exposure to HVAC, plumbing, drainage and low carbon systems — with genuine mentorship and a clear pathway to Chartered status.This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical skills, work alongside experienced engineers, and contribute to landmark projects that make a real difference.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Produce mechanical design calculations, drawings and specifications for HVAC, plumbing and drainage systems across healthcare, education, commercial and industrial projects
* Develop detailed design packages using CAD and BIM (Revit MEP) to RIBA Stage 3 and 4
* Carry out heat loss/gain calculations, load analysis and equipment sizing
* Incorporate low carbon and renewable energy solutions into mechanical building services designs
* Liaise with architects, structural engineers and other design team members to coordinate services
* Attend design team and client meetings, contributing technical input and supporting project delivery
* Assist in the preparation of tender documentation, schedules of equipment and specifications
* Support senior engineers on complex projects and take ownership of smaller schemes independently
* Maintain awareness of current Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and industry best practice
* Progress towards Chartered Engineer status with structured support and mentorship
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
* MEng or BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
* 2–5 years' experience in mechanical building services design
* Experience with HVAC, plumbing and/or drainage systems
* Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD or similar)
* Working knowledge of BIM/Revit MEP (or willingness to learn)
* Understanding of current Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance
* Strong technical and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
* Working towards Chartered Engineer status (CEng)
* Experience across multiple project sectors (healthcare, education, commercial, industrial)
* Knowledge of low carbon and renewable energy systems
* Familiarity with IES, Hevacomp or similar thermal modelling software
