AboutUs:
Greenjets is an innovative engineering company developing high-performance propulsion systems for the aviation market. Our work spans research and development, engine production, aircraft systems, technical integration and flight testing. We are committed to delivering high-grade engineering and best-in-class propulsion for unmanned aircraft.
We do things differently. We move fast, we experiment and we adopt technologies that push beyond the current state of the art. Our aim is to go further, faster and more efficiently, while keeping costs competitive.
All our propulsion systems are designed, developed and manufactured in the UK. We focus on high quality, reliable and cost effective products supported by a robust, secure and ethical supply chain.
About the Job:
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the transition of our propulsion systems from prototype through to low- and medium-rate production. You will play a critical role in designing, developing and continuously improving manufacturing processes to ensure our products are built safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with design, test, quality and supply chain teams, you will help industrialise new products, resolve production challenges and scale manufacturing capability in a fast-paced engineering environment.
This is a new function, so resilience and operating in ambiguity is essential
What You’ll Do:
* Develop, document and optimise manufacturing processes for propulsion system components and assemblies
* Support design-for-manufacture (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) activities from early development through production
* Create and maintain work instructions, routings, tooling concepts and production documentation
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality, yield, cost and throughput
* Support new product introduction (NPI), including prototype builds, pilot runs and production ramp-up
* Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve manufacturing and quality issues
* Define and support tooling, fixtures and equipment requirements
* Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances
* Ensure manufacturing processes comply with relevant quality, safety and regulatory requirements
Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:
* Degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Experience working in a manufacturing or production engineering environment, ideally within aerospace, automotive or high-performance hardware
* Strong understanding of machining, fabrication, assembly and test processes
* Experience with DFM/DFA and NPI activities
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
* Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-moving engineering environment
* Practical problem-solver with strong attention to detail
* Able to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
* Self-motivated, adaptable and willing to take ownership in an evolving organisation
