Job Title: Exam Invigilator
Line Manager: Data & Exams Officer
Hours: Casual hours to be worked during internal & external examination periods
Salary Scale: Grade 16 £12.65 per hour
Job Purpose: To provide invigilation support for examinations in compliance with regulations outlined by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), and to assist the Data & Exams Officer in the smooth and efficient administration of all examinations. This includes student invigilation, management of rooms, facilities and equipment, the despatching of completed scripts, and undertaking related administrative and clerical tasks as required to ensure the effective running of the examinations process.
Key Responsibilities:
•Assist in setting up the examination room to meet JCQ standards.
•Support the orderly and quiet entry of students, ensuring adherence to the seating plan.
•Supervise exam conduct in line with JCQ regulations.
•Help with identifying and registering candidates accurately.
•Ensure students are aware of examination rules and that no unauthorised items are brought into the room.
•Distribute exam papers and materials efficiently.
•Display exam start and finish times, and maintain and sight the seating plan.
•Monitor student behaviour and external noise discreetly.
•Provide additional materials or equipment as needed.
•Supervise candidates with special educational needs or exam concessions to ensure proper support.
•Be responsible for student safety in the event of an emergency, ensuring they are kept separate from others.
•Ensure exams run on time and complete the incident log as necessary.
•Collect and check exam scripts at the end of the session, organise papers, and return them to the Data & Exams Officer.
•Maintain exam conditions until all candidates have exited the rooms.
•Prepare the room for the next exam session if needed.
•Assist with the return and organisation of exam scripts, including occasional administrative tasks related to dispatching scripts.
•Participate in any training by the school to support these responsibilities.
•Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by the Data & Exams Officer or Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications and Experience:
•GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, demonstrating a good standard of general education.
•good organisational and time management skills
•Previous experience desirable but not essential.
